Welcome to new group members in summer 2023!

This summer we welcomed several new group members who joined the lab as full-time students and visiting scholars.

  • Had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Gokulnath G, a talented 4th-year Chemical Engineering undergraduate from IIT Madras (India), as a research intern in my lab during summer of 2023 at Rutgers. He was selected as a Khorana Scholar and granted a prestigious scholarship to intern in my lab. Gokulnath worked on a glycobiologics manufacturing & single-molecule protein-glycan binding interactions relevant projects. We look forward to the impactful publications that result from his research & wish him the best as he prepares to pursue his doctoral studies next year. The Khorana Program, established in honor of Prof. HG Khorana for his seminal Nobel research done a UWBiochem, helps foster student exchanges b/w premier institutions in India & US. Thanks to Khorana program sponsors (INDOUSSTF, DBTIndia,
WinstepF) for supporting Gokulnath. I had the pleasure of learning about Prof. Khorana and this exciting student exchange program established in his honor when I was at UWBiochem before joining Rutgers. Kudos to the program & their vision to encourage budding scientists to pursue exciting research experiences! See tweet about Gokul’s internship here.
  • We welcome Ms. Nakeitha Brown. Nakeitha is a Post-Baccalaureate Research Experience for LSAMP Students (PRELS) from Rutgers-Newark and a PRELS scholar who will be working on the NIIMBL project focused on “Advanced Analytical Analysis of mAb N-Glycans”. She is supported for a year-long fellowship by the GS-LAMP Program to work in my lab starting in August 2023.
  • Finally, we welcome Ms. Srividya V. Tallavajhula. Srividya is a PhD student in the Rutgers Chemistry and Chemical Biology department. She will be co-advised by Prof. Sagar Khare and will be working on engineering biosensors and glycosyl transferase enzymes.
